What is Live Scan Fingerprinting?
Live Scan is inkless electronic fingerprinting. The fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for completion of a criminal history background check that may be required as a condition of employment, licensing, certification, foreign adoptions or VISA/Immigration clearances.
Live Scan technology allows digitally scanned fingerprints to be submitted electronically to the Department of Justice within a matter of minutes and allows criminal background checks to be processed usually within 72 hours.
Applicants must present a valid photo identification to the Live Scan Operator. Expired identification cards will not be accepted.
